Patty Melt

INGREDIENTS

1 lb Ground Beef
5 TBSP Butter (Divided)
1 Small Vidalia Onion (Sliced)
2 Cloves Garlic (Minced)
1 Cup Baby Bella Mushrooms (Sliced)
1-2 Cups Shredded Mozzarella
1/4 Cup Beef Broth
2 TBSP Worcestershire Sauce
4 Slices Whole Wheat Bread (Toasted)
Mayonnaise (Regular or Tangy)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Saute onion, garlic, and mushrooms with 1 TBSP butter in large skillet. Set aside in a bowl.
  2. Brown ground beef. Drain and return to skillet. Add broth and worcestershire sauce, and cook until the liquid evaporates. Remove from heat and spread cheese over the meat. Cover with lid and allow cheese to melt.
  3. While cheese melts, toast each slice of bread with 1 TBSP of butter in a small skillet.
  4. Coat one side of each slice with desired amount of mayonnaise. Layer beef and cheese with vegetable mixture on one slice of bread, top with second slice, cut in half, and enjoy!
