Little Life of Mine

What a blessing it is to awake in this life every day.

We have a coop full of happy chickens, one of which may be a bit spoiled. Her name is Nugget, and she just had to have a photo-op this morning. One should note she’s not the only spoiled animal on the farm, though she is AWARE of being special and makes that clear to her coop mates.

The garden is thriving, as well. Before long, I’ll be canning like a mad woman! Friendly tip: be sure to plant sunflowers next to your corn for an awesome harvest. This works for tomato plants, too, as mine are bigger than I’ve ever seen them this year. Also, zinnias are a perfect companion for your cucumbers. An added plus is they’re so pretty.

It is a ton of work and may be frustrating sometimes, but love is the fruit of all the labor. That, combined with feeling so close to God, balances even the hardest days.
